Bernard Palenapa Hoopii Jr. "Grand Uncle Napa" May 2, 1928 - December 12, 1966
Uncle Napa was "Wounded in action" during the Korean War. While on his second tour of duty is listed as "Killed in action" fighting for America at
Vietnam. His remains are at the Veterans Memorial Cemetary of the Pacific at Punchbowl Crater.

Rachael K. Hoopii, 32, of Waimanalo, Hawaii was on her way with two children to join her husband in Munich, Germany.
Mrs. Hoopii and her little girls, Uilani, 10, and Luana, 6, were all eager to see the family together again.
Tech Sgt Bernard Palenapa Hoopii, 36, of Wailuku, was energized, excited for his family’s arrival.
He was a veteran of 12 years of Army service, which included action in Korea. He had been separated from Rachael, Uilani and Luana for the past two years.
Bernard and Rachael had been married for six years.
